The second disc has the original shows as they were shown on Japanese TV and Adult Swim, complete with an intro and ending, and has the Japanese jokes and live-action footage. They even replace the Japanese live-action footage with their own, and even include a new dub with in-jokes to American politics and pop culture, poking fun at the Olsen twins and Condoleeza Rice, for starters. In this case, not only do they work but they also rip on one another and try to dodge overeager fans. The live-action on this disc, however, is of the cast and crew at ADV Films Headquarters going about their day while working on the show, sort of in a reality show-type way. The first disc is done like a movie, playing a "regular" episode then followed by a "vintage" episode, with live-action shots in-between. But rather than a bunch of episodes on two separate discs, we have two versions of how the show is presented. One interesting thing about the volume is that it comes in a two-disc format. True, it all doesn't make a lot of sense, but it fits with the show and the weirdness of it. Milk-Chan and her pals even seem to do more in these versions, though still in a weird, half-ass way. There's even some "vintage" shows, with the characters drawn and animated in an older-looking style as opposed to the "regular" version of it. The animation parts (which are very cartoony with few characters drawn in actual "anime" style, and even that's in a deliberate cheesy way) are by themselves (though shots of the President's office have real life photos for backgrounds outside the window), with the live-action stuff reserved for quick shots of actual people, or the "haiku" segments where we break from the action for some odd poetry spoken over some random shots. The footage is definitely unique, blending animation and live-action, but not in the way that you'd think. Strange? Definitely, but also rather funny, if you're into that kind of low-brow humor. While Milk actually does some actual superhero-ing, she does it in a half-assed way and usually has to be talked into it. In a way, this is probably why it appeared on Adult Swim not too long ago it fit right in with some of the original shows there, like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sealab 2021. It ranks right up there with shows like South Park and The Simpsons, full of all sorts of political and pop culture jokes while at the same time making little sense. There's only one way to describe this show, and that's "weird".
